We would like to welcome everyone to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville's
Homecoming 2007: "Pioneer Spirit: Decades of Rock." As you look through this
informative 2007 Homecoming Rules Booklet, you will notice all of the fun
and exciting things to do during the week of September 30-October 6, 2007.
We encourage everyone, including students, staff, and faculty, to take part
in this year's Homecoming Activities. We guarantee it will be FAR OUT!
What's Up Platteville!! The major goal for Homecoming is to make sure everyone
is prepared for Homecoming. We want a lot of participation. We also want
to get the Platteville community and UWP Alumni, staff and faculty more involved
in the Homecoming events. To accomplish this we have an "open" bracket where
anyone who is not a member of an organization will be allowed to participate
in Homecoming.
This year we are offering a new twist a Totally Stimulating Experience -
Best Dressed, we will be dressing up as your favorite decade of rock.
We will be continuing the tradition of our annual Charity Drive, called the
"Food Fight", but it is PEACEFUL which will take place Sunday, September 30th
through Friday, October 5th. Our goal this year is to increase the number
of needed priority list items donated on a daily basis. Last year we donated
over 3,500 items. It will be donated to a local pantry. Items are due to the
PIC Front Desk by 6pm on Friday, October 5th EXCELLENT.
The possibilities of "Pioneer Spirit: Decades of Rock" are endless, from the
Temptations to Eminem, from the Supremes to Salt 'n Pepper, from Motown to
O-Town, from the Beatles to Beastie Boys, from Def Leopard to KISS. These
popular genres have been thrilling people for decades. This is the True Pioneer
Spirit. So, join us for a fun filled Homecoming 2007 and make believe you're
a SUPERSTAR!
