Homecoming 2008

Pioneers in P-Vegas

We would like to welcome everyone to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville's Homecoming 2008: "Pioneers in P-Vegas." As you look through this informative Homecoming 2008 Rules Booklet, you will notice all of the fun and exciting things to do during the week of Sunday, September 28th - Saturday, October 4th, 2008. We encourage everyone, including students, staff, and faculty, to take part in this year's Homecoming activities.

Homecoming at UWP is very different than other college Homecomings. Our Homecoming is a weeklong celebration of being a Pioneer. The week is filled with dress up days, activities and friendly competition between the campus and the Platteville Community. Events you don't want to miss are our Academic Games, Tug of War and the Variety Show. To top it off, the week finishes with a parade, football game vs. UW-Stout and the lighting of the M at night. Homecoming is a chance for the students, community, faculty & staff and the alumni to show their support for UWP.

The major goal for Homecoming is to make sure everyone has a lot of fun. We want tons of participation. We also want to get the Platteville community and UWP Alumni, staff and faculty more involved in the Homecoming events. To accomplish this we have an "open" bracket where anyone who is not a member of an organization will be allowed to participate in Homecoming.

From hotels to casinos to headliners in Vegas, the possibilities of "Pioneers in P-Vegas" are endless. Pack your bags, find your favorite hotel on the Vegas Strip and come celebrate being Pioneers in P-Vegas!

Sincerly,
